Pia-Katharina Beeking

I was born on thwe 6th of August in 1984 in Oberhausen but I grew up in the Ruhr River Valley in a quiet little town named Heiden – and right from the start together with horses. At the age of three, I could not stand it anymore. My parents are the living examples of enthusiasm for horses. So I mounted the horse – or pony at that time – and didn't want to get off again! Cornelia Lange, who worked for us as a groom in those days, always kept a watchful eye on me and gave me a helping hand.

Jumping has always fascinated me. It is not that I don't like to ride dressage but my heart beats for show-jumping.

Thanks to the training with Olympic Games victory Dirk Hafemeister and trainer Werner Bußmann, I made the state team when I was 12 and the German team when I was 13 years-old. On top of that I successfully competed in nations cups and German championships.

In 2000 I changed from my beloved ponies to the horses and I had two fantastic four-legged teachers, Georgina and Roxette, who made things really easy for me.
